Jeez, I haven't seen this thing for a while ... a LONG while. I've been really tired lately, which means I've been sleeping a lot. That would be awesome if I was sleeping at night, but I'm not. I bought a car as well, which I'm tired of gabbing about (believe it or not). That thing is awesome, but it's giving me trouble. Inspections, exhaust manifold problems, exhaust problems in general, not actually having my lisence because my parents are idiots, etc. SOOOOOO my life is pretty much routine right now. I got my ring too, which I'm happy about ... and I had to go back to school (which pretty much ruined this week). That's it, I'm going to ride my bike.

Well ... this week has been VERY fun. I got off to a slow start on Tuesday after being out Monday, but eventually was able to rebound and make the best of it. I love 5th period APGaP. It's the funniest, most intellectual class I've ever sat in on ... and I think I'll continue to do it. Aside from that my week was pretty much normal. I actually worked today on my position paper, and plan on finishing that along with my essay on rhetoric. I also got done that DBQ I was supposed to have done a long while back. It's just not something I've gotten used to, and it's certainly not something that I ever want to do. It's not that I have to start over ... it's just that I've only retained a few key skills, like hill climbing. Climbing a hill is a piece of powerbar, but getting to the flat and being burned out is something I've never had to deal with. I've always been a great all around rider and now it's time to up the training again and get back on that physical peak I was on. I could have taken anyone, gone on any ride, and I could have done it all in one gear. I ruled, pretty much. Now it's time to start over. That's what I'll be doing.

You know what I don't understand? The need for people to announce how LITTLE sleep they got the night before. Honestly, I don't really care. If you're really proud of depriving your body of rest time then please, stop telling us and just write a book. Sleep is important, not something to be taken lightly. The teenage body needs 8-9 hours of sleep ... EIGHT TO NINE, not "four" or "only two". Insomnia is another thing. If you're CLINICALLY proven to be insomniatic then please, we all know that those people don't sleep. You don't need to reassure us every time we see you in the morning. If you're not, but say you are ... may the Lord help you on your quest to try and impress us. Not only does EVERYONE know that insomniacs get less than 5 hours of sleep A WEEK ... FIVE HOURS A WEEK (that's the medical requirement ... which will take you a week in a sleep lab to meet); please, insomniacs, shut up. Freshmen tend to do this more than upperclass men. "Oh man, I only got three hours of sleep last night, I'm so tired" ... hmm ... tired after only three hours of sleep? Are you kidding? As for this hate fest, it's about at it's end. I'm pretty tired.

So here it is, one of the few entries I'll be able to write this week. With all that's going on I don't think I have time for anything else but school! Today was pretty wacky. Lock-down, fire drill, tornado watch ... it's all cause for our freshman class to get smaller within the next two weeks. My classes are all good except for English ... which is full of people who I KNOW will drag me down mentally. Teachers are nice and the bike club should get going soon. As for bikes, the 'ol Peugeot will have to do until my Bianchi comes in from Italy (that's right, Italy suckas). Let me tell you, this thing is awesome. Check it at http://www.bianchiusa.com/brava.html and tell me what you think. This is the closest thing to the Peugeot's geometry I can find. Most road bikes now don't have the straight top tube or the kinked fork ... the tube is either lower (making my center of gravity feel way off), or the fork is straight, but raked at the top (which feels funny all together). This one is perfect. I feel like a geek cause I thought about it all day. My bass comes one the 20th ... or at least it hits the US on the 20th. That's about it. I don't know what else to say.

So the following quiz is an old favorite (thanks Catherine). My finger has FINALLY stopped throbbing when I drop it below my heart, and I can now type! It's hard being one letter off because of the drumstick of an index finger I have now. How old do you think someone from Vietnam would be now? That was just a question that's been rattling around my head for a while. My mother is going on this "we're not starting the school year without a clean house" tear, and these precious moments I have without a broom are incredibly rare. That's pretty much all I have to say about THAT!

01. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
02. Am I loveable?
03. How long have you known me?
04. When and where did we first meet?
05. What was your first impression?
06. Do you still think that way about me now?
07. Have you ever dated me?
08. Have you ever WANTED to date me?
09. Have we kissed?
10. Do you want to kiss me?
11. If we could spend one day doing anything of your choosing, what would it be, and why?
12. What do you think my weakness is?
13. Do you think I'll ever get married?
14. What makes me happy?
15. What makes me sad?
16. What reminds you of me?
17. What is my best quality?
18. How well do you think you know me?
19. When's the last time you saw me?
20. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
21. Do you think that I could kill someone?
22. Who would play me in a movie?
23. If I were to be a color, what one would I be?
24. Describe me in one word:
25. Do you think our friendship/relationship is getting stronger/weaker/or staying the same?
26. Do you think that I am stubborn?
27.
Boy have I been blessed. It's hard to tell those who weren't involved with FDC how cool it is to come to work every day, hang out with FDC people almost every night, and do it all summer. I've learned loads of things from you guys that I'll never forget. I'll be there all of next week, the vicoden will be gone and I'll be kid-worthy once more. Here is a shout out to one person who I think have taught me a load about myself.

Dominique- whoa, how awesome is it that we've gotten to know each other this summer? I'm so pleased that we've gotten to spend time with each other, you never cease to amaze me. It's no surprise to me that you won "most mission focused" with me. God has worked overtime through you and it shows. You've got the strength and I'm sure you'll just blaze your way through college and return to the greatest summer camp in the world. I absolutely love watching you interact with kids, and this has really been your summer. They love you, God loves you, and we all love you.

Yawn ... not much to report here. Just a regular day of cleaning before mom got home. Beach trip in the Wrangler tomorrow, should be an experience. I'll be out for a week so gimme a call. I'll be training for a triathalon so wish me luck! That thing should be really cool. Hayley is helping me devise a training regimine at the gym and Christie has a book on triathaloning. Dominique! Come do it with us! Well that's it for me. I'm pretty much tired of everything ... especially sitting here. A bike ride is in order I think.

The Crash

So here it is, the story of the week. My crash:
I'm riding at night, and it's raining (it started out as a traction test for the mountain bike, and ended badly) and I turn into a shopping center under construction. I hadn't been there and I could have sworn I saw a truck pull out behind me. I'm going full tilt down this hill and I think I have a clear shot all the way to the other side. Construction was obvious, but I missed them putting in a circular island in the road at the bottom of the hill. After looking back for that truck to make sure I wasn't in harms way I looked back in front of me and just as me and my bike hit the curb. I was flung forward and my left collar bone hit the pole of a one-way street sign. Nothing was broken and, thank the Lord, I didn't hit my head. I'm alright except for extreme soreness in my left knee (which is completely ripped up and swollen) and a big V shaped cut on my collar bone. A few serious bruises on my left forearm and a swollen left index finger. Thats it. Thank the Lord I'm not hurt. Wear your helmets.

That powerfully positive stuff really works. My huddle (the boys at least) are absolutely amazing. Always in line, always on point, and always ready to hold doors. I hope next session I'll be able to have an all guys huddle so maybe we can play army for an entire session. I wish I had brought a lunch and that I had stayed longer today. Hope you liked your present Alison! Straight from Belarus! I gotta go though, it's tour time.

Uhh ... US POSTAL WON THE TEAM TIME TRIAL! TWO YEARS RUNNING, BABY! Who's got 60 leader's jerseys? Lance does.

Anyone want a ride in my little red wagon? Too bad, you can't. Blue Ridge was awesome. I absolutely love Leader's Club and every single leader in America. I don't know if I can put my love for Blue Ridge and my love for the mountains into words. I'm really sad to not be able to wake up to the mountains every morning. It's funny ... although the mountains never move; they're different every day. That's my spill about BRLS. Ask me for more if you want, I'd much rather tell you personally.
I saw Fahrenheit 911 (spelling?) and I really liked that he put so much effort into the project, but being a conservative I wasn't inclined to like it on a deeper level. Good work, Mr. Moore. The same crowd that was at his lecture during Full Frame was there AGAIN. The same "amen, brother!" crowd follows him around where ever he goes. Is it a liberal thing? Carly Brown, David Kirby, and I were there enjoying it together. Fun times. When we went to take Carly home we saw a little boy on a bike that turned into a drunk old man and a freaky little girl pointing at something. You live in a creepy hood, Carly, no wonder you don't have trouble staying number one. I'm out, little kids + the pool = I'm tired. Later, guys.

What have you done so far during summer?

So ... camp is awesome. I'm with the Lil' Spinnaz for the second session in a row and my co-counselors are fantastic. Katie has that soft touch with kids, the "that's awesome, what did you do this weekend" kind of thing (you'd have to see it). Andrew just keeps them in line. We got our CILTs today and they're pretty good. They're willing to lead games and do a freaking awesome job with relating to the kids. I'm to tired though, I had to dress up in my lion suit today for the Blue Ridge devotion practice and that thing is pretty hot. I can't wait for my tangerine dream to get here and I can't wait to peace Raleigh out for Black Mountain. Blue Ridge is so close I can feel the ice-breakers. I feel bad because I'm missing a week of camp, but whatcha gonna do? Emily just got back from Europe and I'm glad she's back ... but now I have to share the bathroom again. She got me a St. Christopher pendant for safe traveling, it's really cool. She also brought back Violette candy ... candy that tastes like flowers ... right on. For now, though, I'm out. I've got a load of things I need to get done tomorrow. Here's what they are:

1. Packing
2. Hair-cut
3. Burning CDs for the trip
4. Resting up
5. Making sure I can do the shuttle run in under ten seconds
6. Chilling with Emily and Charlie

Blue States (they did the last song on the 28 days soundtrack)
